Clarification Regarding the fall of Missile Debris over a Wide Geographic Area
The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
On March 24, 2026, following the fall of parts of a missile over a wide geographic area, specialized army units conducted an immediate field survey, collected the debris, and analyzed it. The results showed that the missile was a guided ballistic missile of the “Qadr-110” type, manufactured in Iran. It is approximately 16 meters long, has a range of about 2,000 km, and carries several small-sized submunitions.
It exploded at a high altitude, suggesting that its intended target was outside Lebanese territory. The cause of the explosion is likely either a technical malfunction or interception by another missile.
In this context, the Army Command indicated that there are no interceptor missile platforms within Lebanese territory.
The army continues its investigation to determine the circumstances of the incident.
