Lebanese Army Pursues Human Smuggling Networks by Sea

The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
A patrol from the Intelligence Directorate arrested two Lebanese citizens (M.AA.) and (N.S.) in the Mina area of Tripoli for their involvement in smuggling people by sea. They had demanded a sum of money from a citizen in exchange for including him in a smuggling operation that had previously been thwarted.
Two military pistols were seized in their possession.
The seized items were handed over to the relevant authorities, and the investigation was initiated under the supervision of the competent judicial authority. Efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining individuals involved.
