Visitors of the Army Commander-in-Chief
The Lebanese Army Commander-in-Chief, General Rodolph Haykal, received at his office in Yarzeh the German Ambassador to Lebanon, Thomas Zahneisen, on a courtesy visit marking the beginning of his mission in Lebanon, accompanied by the German Military Attaché, Lieutenant Colonel Kai Zimmermann. During the meeting, Ambassador Zahneisen stressed the importance of supporting the Army during this critical phase. Discussions also focused on ways to strengthen cooperation between the Lebanese and German armies and on the post-UNIFIL phase.
General Haykal, for his part, expressed his gratitude to the German authorities for their continued support to the Army amid the ongoing challenges.
He also received the British Deputy Chief of the Defence Staff, Lt. Gen. Charlie Kollins, accompanied by a delegation. Discussions focused on the post-UNIFIL phase and ways to support the Army and enhance its capabilities, particularly in terms of controlling and protecting the borders, amid the exceptional circumstances the country is going through.
