Visitors of the Lebanese Army Commander-in-Chief

The Lebanese Army Commander-in-Chief, General Rodolph Haykal, received in his office in Yarzeh the Italian Chief of Defense Staff, General Luciano Portolano, at the head of a delegation, in the presence of the Italian Ambassador to Lebanon, Fabrizio Marcelli. Discussions focused on the general situation and current developments, as well as ways to support the Lebanese Army amid the challenges it faces. They also addressed preparations and available options for the period following the conclusion of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) mission.

General Haykal also received the Mufti of Baalbek–Hermel, Sheikh Bakr Al Rifai, and the Mayor of Arsal, Mounir Al Hujeiri, along with a delegation of local figures from the town. Talks focused on the general situation in Lebanon, stressing the importance of preserving national unity and standing by the army. Matters and concerns related to the town of Arsal and its residents were also discussed.
