كيف انتهى جيشنا من المعركة؟

كثيرًا ما تخرج الجيوش من معركتها مُثخنة بجراحها، محوطة بأتعابها، فالحرب ليست كالسّلم بأيّ حال، والتّعامل مع العدو ليس كالتّعامل مع الصديق أو مع المحايد في أقلّ تقدير. وقد تخرج الجيوش من تلك المعارك لتجد نفسها أمام جدال سياسي، وحساب اقتصادي ونقاش إعلامي، حول جدوى ما قامت به، وحجم ما تمّ استخدامه من كلفات وأعباء، ومستوى ما بلغته من أهداف، وصوابية ما أقدمت عليه وخاضت غماره.
في لبنان يمضي الجيش إلى مهماته بثبات ووحدانيّة قرار، وكأنّه إنّما يفعل ذلك بتكليف من الشعب بأسره، وهو يخرج من المعركة ليجد أنّ الشعب نفسه يلتفّ حوله، يهنئه بانتصاره، ويتقدّم المواكب لتكريم شهدائه، ويشارك بكلّ وسيلة في تحمّل آلام جراحه.
ويتبنّى الشعب في لبنان ما قام به جيشه وسعى إليه وحصل عليه من إنجازات وأعمال، كيف لا، وهذا الجيش إنّما كان يقاتل بسلاح مواطنيه، سلاح الوحدة الوطنيّة الّذي ليس قبله سلاح؟ الوحدة الوطنية هذه هي سلاحنا الّذي ننتصر به، وننتصر من أجله. ندافع به وندافع عنه لكي يبقى سليماً قوياً، ملاحقاً للعصر مثل أي سلاح.
لقد انطلق المواطنون إلى الساحات مستقبلين جيشهم العائد من معركة خاضها بقرار واضح ضد عدوّ واضح هو الإرهاب. عدوّ واضح وإن تكن خلاياه متخفّية متوارية خلف الجحور والدريئات، وبين الدّعايات والأكاذيب. لقد خرج الجيش من المعركة ليلاقي مواطنيه ويجدّد العهد معهم، ويطمئنهم إلى أمنهم واستقرارهم. لقد تمّ ضرب الإرهاب واقتلعت جذوره عند حدودنا الشرقية، إلاّ أنّ ذلك لا يلغي أن نبقى في حيطة وحذر من ذئاب قد تظهر هنا وقد تظهر هناك.
يتلقّى المواطنون الأمر على محمل الجدّ، يزيدون من التضامن مع جيشهم، والثقة بقدرته على مواجهة أي خطر قادم ، فالتجارب كلها أثبتت ذلك.

How did our army finish the battle?
Armies often come out of the battles they engage in severely weakened by wounds and fatigue for war differs greatly from peace and dealing with the enemy varies from dealing with a friend or a neutral side to say the least.
Armies might also emerge from battles to find themselves entangled with political  controversy, economic burdens and dialogue with the media addressing the benefits of the war and the bulk of the costs and the level of accomplished objectives as well as the relevance of what these armies has engaged in.
In Lebanon, the Army moves ahead while conducting its missions steadily relying on its decisions as if it is commissioned by the entire Lebanese people. The Amy has concluded its battle only to ascertain that the people has gathered around its troops to congratulate them with the victory and led the way of army convoys to honor its martyrs and endeavored to participate valiantly in any way possible to bear the Army’s wounds.
The Lebanese people has embraced what the Army has accomplished and strived for in terms of feats and deeds. How can it not, and this army has been fighting with the weapon of its citizens, the unprecedented weapon of national unity? This national unity is our weapon with which and for the sake of which we triumph. We defend with it and for its sake so that it remains powerful, intact and up to date like any other weapon.
The citizens have gathered in the squares of the region to receive their army that is returning from a battle it has fought with a clear decision against a clear enemy, terrorism. It is a clear enemy, despite the fact that its cells are hidden in lairs and hideouts and among lies and false news. The army has triumphed in the battle and met with the citizens in order to renew its vow to them and assure them that it will always preserve their security and stability. Terrorism was hit and eradicated at our eastern border. However, this does not cancel the fact that we should remain cautious and careful from lone wolves that might emerge here and there.
Citizens are taking this issue seriously and are boosting their solidarity with their army as well as their confidence in its capability to face any upcoming danger, a fact that was proven by experience.
